    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to honesty in postsecondary education;
    3         creating s. 1009.02, F.S.; providing a short title;
    4         requiring state universities, Florida College System
    5         institutions, and independent nonprofit colleges or
    6         universities that receive state funds to publish
    7         information through a website link relating to certain
    8         degree programs and salaries; providing requirements
    9         for such information; requiring the link and
   10         information to be posted by a specified date;
   11         providing an effective date.

   13  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   14  
   15         Section 1. Section 1009.02, Florida Statutes, is created to
   16  read:
   17         1009.02Honesty in postsecondary education.—
   18         (1)This section may be cited as the “Honesty in
   19  Postsecondary Education Act.”
   20         (2)Each state university, Florida College System
   21  institution, and independent nonprofit college or university
   22  that receives state funds and offers a baccalaureate or higher
   23  degree shall, through a link on its website, post information
   24  and statistics relating to each of its baccalaureate or higher
   25  degree programs. The information and statistics for each
   26  baccalaureate or higher degree offered must include, but are not
   27  limited to, the average salary for an individual earning such
   28  degree 1 year, 5 years, 10 years, and 20 years after entering
   29  the workforce. The state university, Florida College System
   30  institution, and independent nonprofit college or university
   31  must have such information published on its website no later
   32  than July 1, 2019.
   33         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2017.
