    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to warnings for lottery games;
    3         amending s. 24.111, F.S.; requiring contracts entered
    4         into between the Department of the Lottery and a
    5         vendor of lottery tickets to include a provision that
    6         requires the vendor to place or print a specified
    7         warning on all lottery tickets; amending s. 24.112,
    8         F.S.; requiring contracts entered into between the
    9         department and a retailer of lottery tickets to
   10         include a provision that requires the retailer to
   11         prominently display a sign with a specified warning at
   12         the point of sale; providing an effective date.
   13          
   14  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   15  
   16         Section 1. Subsection (8) is added to section 24.111,
   17  Florida Statutes, to read:
   18         24.111 Vendors; disclosure and contract requirements.—
   19         (8) Every contract subject to this section shall contain a
   20  provision that requires the vendor to place or print a warning
   21  on all lottery tickets that prominently reads: “WARNING:
   22  GAMBLING CAN BE ADDICTIVE.”
   23         Section 2. Subsections (10) through (15) of section 24.112,
   24  Florida Statutes, are renumbered as subsections (11) through
   25  (16), respectively, and a new subsection (10) is added to that
   26  section, to read:
   27         24.112 Retailers of lottery tickets; authorization of
   28  vending machines to dispense lottery tickets.—
   29         (10) Every contract subject to this section shall contain a
   30  provision that requires the retailer to prominently display a
   31  sign, provided by the department, at the lottery ticket point of
   32  sale that states: “WARNING: GAMBLING CAN BE ADDICTIVE.”
   33         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2017.
