    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the retirement of instructional
    3         personnel and school administrators; directing the
    4         State Board of Education to adopt rules prohibiting
    5         instructional personnel and school administrators from
    6         selecting a retirement date that occurs during the
    7         regular school year; providing exceptions to the
    8         rules; providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. The State Board of Education is directed to
   13  adopt rules prohibiting instructional personnel and school
   14  administrators from selecting a retirement date that occurs
   15  during the regular school year, except for retirement due to
   16  disability or illness.
   17         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2017.
