       Senator Lee moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (244350) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Between lines 1877 and 1878
    5  insert:
    6         Section 29. Paragraph (b) of subsection (2) of section
    7  1002.3305, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
    8         1002.3305 College-Preparatory Boarding Academy Pilot
    9  Program for at-risk students.—
   10         (2) DEFINITIONS.—As used in this section, the term:
   11         (b) “Eligible student” means a student who is a resident of
   12  the state and entitled to attend school in a participating
   13  school district, is at risk of academic failure, is currently
   14  enrolled in grade 5-12 grade 5 or 6, is from a family whose
   15  gross income is at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty
   16  guidelines, is eligible for benefits or services funded by
   17  Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Title IV-E of
   18  the Social Security Act, and meets at least one of the following
   19  additional risk factors:
   20         1. The child is in foster care or has been declared an
   21  adjudicated dependent by a court.
   22         2. The student’s head of household is not the student’s
   23  custodial parent.
   24         3. The student resides in a household that receives a
   25  housing voucher or has been determined eligible for public
   26  housing assistance.
   27         4. A member of the student’s immediate family has been
   28  incarcerated.
   29         5. The child is covered under the terms of the state’s
   30  Child Welfare Waiver Demonstration project with the United
   31  States Department of Health and Human Services.

   34  And the title is amended as follows:
   35         Delete line 2057
   36  and insert:
   37         a specified date; amending s. 1002.3305, F.S.;
   38         revising the definition of the term “eligible student”
   39         as it relates to the college preparatory boarding
   40         academy pilot program; providing an effective date.
