    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to supplemental appropriations;
    3         providing moneys for the annual period beginning July
    4         1, 2017, and ending June 30, 2018, to fund the Florida
    5         Education Finance Program; providing effective dates.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. (1) For the 2017-2018 fiscal year, the recurring
   10  sum of $66,058,009 from the General Revenue Fund and the
   11  nonrecurring sum of $149,074,378 from the General Revenue Fund
   12  are appropriated to the Department of Education in the Aid to
   13  Local Governments Grants and Aids – Florida Educational Finance
   14  Program category as a supplement to funds provided for the
   15  Florida Education Finance Program in Specific Appropriation 91
   16  of chapter 2017-70, Laws of Florida.
   17         (2) From the funds provided in subsection (1), the base
   18  student allocation shall increase by $70.31 and the Federally
   19  Connected Student Supplement shall increase by $78,498.
   20         (3) The Total Required Local Effort designated in Specific
   21  Appropriation 91 of chapter 2017-70, Laws of Florida, shall
   22  decrease by $1,529,002.
   23         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2017; or, if
   24  this act fails to become a law until after that date, it shall
   25  take effect upon becoming a law and shall operate retroactively
   26  to July 1, 2017.
