    2         An act relating to telecommunications carrier Lifeline
    3         service programs; amending s. 364.011, F.S.; revising
    4         exemptions from Public Service Commission oversight to
    5         allow for commission oversight of certain eligible
    6         telecommunications carrier designations for Lifeline
    7         service programs; providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Section 364.011, Florida Statutes, is amended to
   12  read:
   13         364.011 Exemptions from commission jurisdiction.—The
   14  following services are exempt from oversight by the commission,
   15  except to the extent delineated in this chapter or as authorized
   16  by federal law for the purpose of making eligible
   17  telecommunications carrier designations for Lifeline service
   18  programs:
   19         (1) Intrastate interexchange telecommunications services.
   20         (2) Broadband services, regardless of the provider,
   21  platform, or protocol.
   22         (3) VoIP.
   23         (4) Wireless telecommunications, including commercial
   24  mobile radio service providers.
   25         (5) Basic service.
   26         (6) Nonbasic services or comparable services offered by any
   27  telecommunications company.
   28         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2018.
