    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to control of human trafficking;
    3         requiring the Department of Legal Affairs to develop
    4         human trafficking awareness campaigns; requiring the
    5         department to develop and operate a hotline to receive
    6         reports of potential human trafficking activity;
    7         providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Human trafficking awareness campaigns; hotline.
   12  The Department of Legal Affairs shall, subject to legislative
   13  appropriations:
   14         (1) Develop campaigns to increase awareness of human
   15  trafficking, particularly among children and other potentially
   16  vulnerable populations. Such campaigns may include information
   17  concerning approaches used by traffickers, warning signs of
   18  trafficking, and inappropriate behaviors that should be
   19  reported.
   20         (2) Develop and operate a toll-free hotline to receive
   21  reports of potential human trafficking incidents. The department
   22  shall promptly provide all such reports deemed to be credible to
   23  appropriate law enforcement agencies for investigation and
   24  disposition.
   25         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2018.
