    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to jurors; amending s. 40.013, F.S.;
    3         requiring that a certain person’s voting rights,
    4         rather than civil rights, be restored before he or she
    5         is qualified to serve as a juror; providing an
    6         effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 40.013, Florida
   11  Statutes, is amended to read:
   12         40.013 Persons disqualified or excused from jury service.—
   13         (1) No person who is under prosecution for any crime, or
   14  who has been convicted in this state, any federal court, or any
   15  other state, territory, or country of bribery, forgery, perjury,
   16  larceny, or any other offense that is a felony in this state or
   17  which if it had been committed in this state would be a felony,
   18  unless restored to voting civil rights, shall be qualified to
   19  serve as a juror.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.
