    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to public swimming pools; amending s.
    3         514.0315, F.S.; requiring public swimming pools to
    4         have a telephone available by a certain date;
    5         specifying that the telephone must meet certain
    6         requirements; providing an effective date.
    7          
    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Subsection (4) is added to section 514.0315,
   11  Florida Statutes, to read:
   12         514.0315 Required safety features for public swimming pools
   13  and spas.—
   14         (4) By December 31, 2019, or an earlier date determined by
   15  the county health department, each public swimming pool must
   16  have available a telephone for all public swimming pool users in
   17  case of an emergency. The telephone must:
   18         (a) Be capable of directly dialing 911 or a central
   19  monitoring station in compliance with North American safety
   20  standards which is either ETL or UL listed.
   21         (b) Include dialing instructions.
   22         (c) Be permanently mounted inside the pool premises or
   23  outside the premises, within 75 feet of a pool entrance.
   24         (d) Be visible from within the pool premises, or if the
   25  telephone is not visible from within the pool premises, a sign
   26  must be posted inside the premises indicating its location.
   27         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
