       Senator Rodriguez moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to House Amendment (159253) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Delete lines 163 - 177
    5  and insert:
    6         (5)A state entity, local governmental entity, or law
    7  enforcement agency implementing this chapter has an affirmative
    8  duty to inquire as to whether a person is a victim of or a
    9  witness to a criminal offense, and if so, the victim or the
   10  witness may not be subject to the chapter.

   13  And the title is amended as follows:
   14         Delete lines 439 - 441
   15  and insert:
   16         United States under certain circumstances; providing
   17         that certain entities or agencies have an affirmative
   18         duty to inquire as to whether a person is a victim of
   19         or a witness to a criminal offense, and if so,
   20         exempting the person from being subject to the act;
   21         specifying
