    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to pest control; repealing s. 482.242,
    3         F.S., relating to preemption of pest control
    4         regulation to the state; creating s. 482.244, F.S.;
    5         prohibiting a county, municipality, or other local
    6         political subdivision from adopting or enforcing a
    7         local ordinance, special law, or local regulation
    8         governing pest control which is less stringent than
    9         general law or agency rule; providing an effective
   10         date.

   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. Section 482.242, Florida Statutes, is repealed.
   15         Section 2. Section 482.244, Florida Statutes, is created to
   16  read:
   17         482.244 Local ordinances, special laws, and local
   18  regulations.—A county, municipality, or other local political
   19  subdivision may not adopt or enforce any local ordinance,
   20  special law, or local regulation governing pest control which is
   21  less stringent than general law or agency rule.
   22         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.
