       The Committee on Infrastructure and Security (Taddeo)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)

    3         Between lines 582 and 583
    4  insert:
    5         (10) LIABILITY.—Notwithstanding the limitations prescribed
    6  in s. 768.28, any school district that participates in the Coach
    7  Aaron Feis Guardian Program shall be liable for the negligent
    8  discharge or use of a firearm by a school guardian when such
    9  discharge or use occurs beyond the scope of an active shooter
   10  situation or a defense situation. The school district may not be
   11  held liable to pay a claim or a judgment by any one person for
   12  such tort which exceeds the sum of $1 million. The limitations
   13  of liability set forth in this subsection apply to claims
   14  arising on or after July 1, 2019.
