    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to jury service; amending s. 40.013,
    3         F.S.; requiring certain students in specified schools
    4         to be excused from jury service upon request;
    5         providing an effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Subsection (11) is added to section 40.013,
   10  Florida Statutes, to read:
   11         40.013 Persons disqualified or excused from jury service.—
   12         (11) A person between 18 and 21 years of age, inclusive,
   13  who is actively enrolled as a full-time student in high school
   14  or at a Florida College System institution, state university,
   15  private postsecondary educational institution, or career center
   16  shall be excused from jury service upon request.
   17         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.
