    2         An act relating to emergency management; creating s.
    3         252.64, F.S.; authorizing the state and its political
    4         subdivisions to use technology for specified purposes
    5         relating to emergency management; specifying that such
    6         technology may be provided by a private entity;
    7         providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Section 252.64, Florida Statutes, is created to
   12  read:
   13         252.64 Use of technology for emergency management
   14  purposes.—The state, or any political subdivision thereof, may
   15  use technology, including, but not limited to, technology
   16  provided through mobile phones, to provide assistance for
   17  emergency management purposes and to provide information and
   18  deliver services to victims of, and to those affected by, a
   19  disaster. Such technology may be provided by a private entity
   20  through a gift, a grant, a loan, or by other agreement as
   21  authorized in s. 252.37(4)(b).
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.
