       The Committee on Education (Gruters) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 31 - 35
    4  and insert:
    5         (c) A person may not appear on the ballot for reelection to
    6  the office of school board member if, by the end of his or her
    7  current term of office, the person will have served, or but for
    8  resignation would have served, in that office for eight
    9  consecutive years.
