       The Committee on Community Affairs (Gruters) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 50 - 54
    4  and insert:
    5  educational purposes shall also be exempt from ad valorem taxes
    6  if, under a lease, the educational institution is responsible
    7  for any taxes owed and for ongoing maintenance and operational
    8  expenses for the land and buildings under the lease and if the
    9  real property has been used for educational purposes and has
   10  been receiving the exemption under this section for at least 10
   11  years.

   14  And the title is amended as follows:
   15         Delete lines 5 - 7
   16  and insert:
   17         educational purposes from ad valorem taxes if certain
   18         criteria are met;
