       Senator Lee moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 44 - 52
    4  and insert:
    5  regardless of value, if the agency head of the reporting
    6  individual’s or procurement employee’s agency approves and
    7  certifies that the reporting individual or procurement employee,
    8  or his or her spouse or child, has suffered serious bodily
    9  injury or has been diagnosed with a serious disease or illness
   10  during the period of his or her employment. Any gift or
   11  compensation accepted pursuant to this subsection must be used
   12  toward expenses directly incurred, or in connection with, the
   13  care and treatment of the reporting individual, procurement
   14  employee, or spouse or child thereof. Notwithstanding the
   15  reporting requirements of this section, any gift made and
   16  accepted pursuant to this subsection must be reported by both
   17  the donor and the recipient of the gift.
