       The Committee on Criminal Justice (Taddeo) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 24 - 28
    4  and insert:
    5  vehicle. Law enforcement agencies, before consummating the sale,
    6  exchange, or transfer, shall provide an official letter of
    7  notification to the purchaser, customer, or transferee
    8  confirming the fact that the vehicle has had the police markings
    9  removed. For purposes of this subsection, the term “police
   10  markings” means decals, stickers, distinctive paint schemes, or
   11  other markings attached or applied to a police vehicle that
   12  identify the vehicle as a police vehicle. Sales, exchanges, or
   13  transfers of police vehicles between law enforcement agencies
   14  are exempt from the requirements of this subsection.

   17  And the title is amended as follows:
   18         Delete lines 5 - 7
   19  and insert:
   20         without removing any police markings from the vehicle;
   21         requiring law enforcement agencies to provide written
   22         confirmation that the police markings have been
   23         removed; defining the term “police markings”;
   24         exempting sales, exchanges, or transfers of police
   25         vehicles between law enforcement agencies;
