    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution recognizing February 5, 2020, as
    3         “Community Planning Day” in Florida.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, community planning and planners help manage the
    6  constant change that affects all geographic areas of this state
    7  in a way that provides better choices for how people work, live,
    8  and play, and
    9         WHEREAS, community planning provides an opportunity for all
   10  residents to be equally involved in making choices that
   11  determine the shared vision of their neighborhoods, and
   12         WHEREAS, the full benefits of community planning require
   13  public officials and citizens who understand, support, and
   14  demand excellence in planning and plan implementation, and
   15         WHEREAS, the Florida Chapter of the American Planning
   16  Association endorses Community Planning Day as an opportunity to
   17  highlight the contributions that sound community planning and
   18  plan implementation make to the quality of our neighborhoods and
   19  the environment, and
   20         WHEREAS, the celebration of Community Planning Day gives
   21  Floridians the opportunity to publicly recognize the
   22  participation and dedication of the members of planning
   23  commissions, citizen planners, and planning professionals who
   24  have contributed their time and expertise to the betterment of
   25  this state, NOW, THEREFORE,

   27  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

   29         That February 5, 2020, is recognized as “Community Planning
   30  Day” in Florida.
