    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to public records; amending s.
    3         11.0431, F.S.; deleting a public records exemption for
    4         drafts and draft requests for reapportionment plans,
    5         redistricting plans, or an amendment thereto, and any
    6         supporting documents; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Paragraph (e) of subsection (2) of section
   11  11.0431, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   12         11.0431 Legislative records; intent of legislation;
   13  exemption from public disclosure.—
   14         (2) The following public records are exempt from inspection
   15  and copying:
   16         (e) A draft, and a request for a draft, of a
   17  reapportionment plan or redistricting plan and an amendment
   18  thereto. Any supporting documents associated with such plan or
   19  amendment until a bill implementing the plan, or the amendment,
   20  is filed.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020.
