The Committee on Health Policy (Berman) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete lines 113 - 116
4 and insert:
5 (3) if:
6 (a) The attending physician certifies in the minor’s
7 medical record that a medical emergency, as defined in s.
8 390.01114(2)(d), exists and there is insufficient time to obtain
9 consent;
10 (b) Consent is waived under subsection (6); or
11 (c) A licensed mental health counselor, a licensed
12 psychologist, or a licensed psychiatrist certifies in the
13 minor’s medical record that abortion is in the best interest of
14 the minor’s mental health.

17 Delete line 8
18 and insert:
19 exception for a medical emergency, waiver, or the best
20 interest of the minor’s mental health; requiring a
