       The Committee on Innovation, Industry, and Technology (Mayfield)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Between lines 131 and 132
    4  insert:
    5         (k) A postsecondary institution shall conduct a financial
    6  literacy and life skills workshop for a minimum of 5 hours at
    7  the beginning of the intercollegiate athlete’s first and third
    8  academic years. The workshop shall, at a minimum, include
    9  information concerning financial aid, debt management, and a
   10  recommended budget for full and partial grant-in-aid
   11  intercollegiate athletes based on the current academic year’s
   12  cost of attendance. The workshop shall also include information
   13  on time management skills necessary for success as an
   14  intercollegiate athlete and available academic resources. The
   15  workshop may not include any marketing, advertising, referral,
   16  or solicitation by providers of financial products or services.
