       Senator Hutson moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Substitute for Amendment (231276) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Between lines 69 and 70
    5  insert:
    6         Section 2. The Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
    7  shall evaluate the potential economic impact to the commercial
    8  shark fishing industry associated with the prohibition of the
    9  import, export, and sale of shark fins in Florida. Based on any
   10  identified negative economic impacts to the commercial shark
   11  fishing industry, the commission shall identify actions to
   12  lessen or offset impacts on the industry to the extent
   13  practicable. The commission also shall review the potential
   14  impact on shark populations associated with the prohibition of
   15  the import, export, and sale of shark fins in Florida. The
   16  commission shall report its findings to the Governor, the
   17  President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of
   18  Representatives by December 31, 2023.

   21  And the title is amended as follows:
   22         Delete line 6
   23  and insert:
   24         applicability; requiring the Fish and Wildlife
   25         Conservation Commission to evaluate the potential
   26         economic impacts to the commercial shark fishing
   27         industry in this state; requiring the commission to
   28         identify actions to lessen or offset impacts to the
   29         industry; requiring the commission to review the
   30         potential impact on shark populations; requiring a
   31         report to the Legislature by a specified date;
   32         providing an effective date.
