    2         An act relating to jury service; amending s. 40.013,
    3         F.S.; requiring that full-time students who meet
    4         specified criteria be excused from jury service upon
    5         request; providing an effective date.
    6          
    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Subsection (11) is added to section 40.013,
   10  Florida Statutes, to read:
   11         40.013 Persons disqualified or excused from jury service.—
   12         (11) Upon request, a full-time student between 18 and 21
   13  years of age, inclusive, who is attending high school or any
   14  state university, private postsecondary educational institution,
   15  Florida College System institution, or career center shall be
   16  excused from that specific summons for jury service.
   17         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020.
