    2         An act relating to independent special fire control
    3         districts; amending s. 191.006, F.S.; requiring an
    4         independent special fire control district to have, and
    5         authorizing the board of such district to exercise,
    6         specified powers and duties; providing an effective
    7         date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsection (13) of section 191.006, Florida
   12  Statutes, is amended to read:
   13         191.006 General powers.—The district shall have, and the
   14  board may exercise by majority vote, the following powers:
   15         (13) To cooperate or contract with other persons or
   16  entities, including other governmental agencies, as necessary,
   17  convenient, incidental, or proper in connection with providing
   18  effective mutual aid and furthering any power, duty, or purpose
   19  authorized by this act. The district shall have, and the board
   20  may exercise, all powers and duties provided in chapter 189,
   21  this chapter, and s. 163.01, including the exercise of such
   22  powers within or without the district’s boundary in cooperation
   23  with another governmental agency when such agency shares such
   24  powers in common with the district.
   25         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020.
