       Senator Stargel moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)
    2  
    3         Delete line 191
    4  and insert:
    5         483.918 Conscience clause.—This part may not be construed
    6  to require any genetic counselor to participate in counseling
    7  that conflicts with his or her deeply held moral or religious
    8  beliefs. The licensing of a genetic counselor may not be
    9  contingent upon participation in such counseling. A counselor’s
   10  refusal to participate in counseling that conflicts with his or
   11  her deeply held moral or religious beliefs may not form the
   12  basis for any claim of damages or for any disciplinary action
   13  against the genetic counselor, provided the genetic counselor
   14  informs the patient that he or she will not participate in such
   15  counseling and offers to direct the patient to the online health
   16  care practitioner license verification database maintained by
   17  the department.
   18         483.919 Exemptions.—This part does not apply to:

   31         providing construction; prohibiting the licensing of a

   34         her deeply held moral or religious beliefs; providing
   35         genetic counselors with immunity from a claim of
   36         damages or disciplinary action under certain
   37         circumstances;
