    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution commemorating the 100th anniversary of
    3         the creation of Hardee County.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, in 1921, during the 18th Regular Session of the
    6  Legislature, a bill was introduced to divide DeSoto County into
    7  Charlotte, DeSoto, Glades, Hardee, and Highlands Counties, and
    8         WHEREAS, on April 23, 1921, Governor Cary Hardee, who was
    9  in his first year of office, signed that bill into law, making
   10  Hardee County this state’s 55th county, and
   11         WHEREAS, Wauchula was designated by the legislation as the
   12  temporary county seat of Hardee County, and it remains the
   13  county seat today, NOW, THEREFORE,

   15  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   16  
   17         That the 100th anniversary of the creation of Hardee County
   18  is commemorated.
