       Senator Polsky moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 616 and 617
    4  insert:
    5         Section 12. Section 13. Subsection (1) of section 100.141,
    6  Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         100.141 Notice of special election to fill any vacancy in
    8  office.—
    9         (1) Whenever a special election is required to fill any
   10  vacancy in office, the Governor, after consultation with the
   11  Secretary of State, shall issue an order declaring on what day
   12  the election shall be held and deliver the order to the
   13  Department of State. The Governor shall issue the order within
   14  14 calendar days of the occurrence of the vacancy.
   15         Section 13. The amendments made by this act to s. 100.141,
   16  Florida Statutes, shall also apply to any vacancy in an elective
   17  office existing on the effective date of this act which may only
   18  be filled by election, regardless of whether the vacancy was
   19  created before the effective date of this act.
