    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to specialty license plates; amending
    3         s. 320.08058, F.S.; directing the Department of
    4         Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to develop a Disease
    5         Prevention & Early Detection specialty license plate;
    6         providing for distribution and use of fees collected
    7         from the sale of the plate; providing an effective
    8         date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Subsection (112) is added to section 320.08058,
   13  Florida Statutes, to read:
   14         320.08058 Specialty license plates.—
   15         (112)DISEASE PREVENTION & EARLY DETECTION LICENSE PLATES.—
   16         (a)The department shall develop a Disease Prevention &
   17  Early Detection license plate as provided in this section and s.
   18  320.08053. The plate must bear the colors and design approved by
   19  the department. The word “Florida” must appear at the top of the
   20  plate, and the words “Disease Prevention & Early Detection” must
   21  appear at the bottom of the plate.
   22         (b) The license plate annual use fees shall be distributed
   23  to The Women’s Breast & Heart Initiative, Florida Affiliate,
   24  Inc., a Florida nonprofit corporation, which may use a maximum
   25  of 10 percent of the proceeds to promote and market the plate.
   26  The remainder of the proceeds shall be used by The Women’s
   27  Breast & Heart Initiative, Florida Affiliate, Inc., to provide
   28  increased education and awareness relating to early detection,
   29  prevention, and screening of breast and heart issues.
   30         Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2021.
