    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to cultural and historical grant
    3         programs; amending s. 265.701, F.S.; requiring the
    4         annual appropriation of a specified amount to the
    5         Division of Arts and Culture to fund grants to
    6         acquire, renovate, or construct cultural facilities;
    7         amending s. 267.0617, F.S.; requiring an annual
    8         appropriation of a specified amount to the Historical
    9         Preservation Grant Program to fund grants to assist
   10         with the preservation of historic properties;
   11         providing an effective date.

   13  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   14  
   15         Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 265.701, Florida
   16  Statutes, is amended to read:
   17         265.701 Cultural facilities; grants for acquisition,
   18  renovation, or construction; funding; approval; allocation.—
   19         (1)(a) The Division of Arts and Culture may accept and
   20  administer moneys appropriated to it for providing grants to
   21  counties, municipalities, and qualifying nonprofit corporations
   22  for the acquisition, renovation, or construction of cultural
   23  facilities.
   24         (b)Beginning with the 2022-2023 fiscal year, and every
   25  fiscal year thereafter, at least $35 million shall be
   26  appropriated to the Division of Arts and Culture to fund grants
   27  to acquire, renovate, or construct cultural facilities pursuant
   28  to this section.
   29         Section 2. Subsection (1) of section 267.0617, Florida
   30  Statutes, is amended to read:
   31         267.0617 Historic Preservation Grant Program.—
   32         (1)(a) There is hereby created within the division the
   33  Historic Preservation Grant Program, which shall make grants of
   34  moneys appropriated by the Legislature, moneys deposited
   35  pursuant to s. 550.0351(2), and moneys contributed for that
   36  purpose from any other source. The program funds must shall be
   37  used by the division for the purpose of financing grants in
   38  furtherance of the purposes of this section.
   39         (b)Beginning with the 2022-2023 fiscal year, and every
   40  fiscal year thereafter, at least $25 million shall be
   41  appropriated to the Historic Preservation Grant Program to fund
   42  grants to assist with the preservation of historic properties
   43  pursuant to this section.
   44         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022.
