       The Committee on Appropriations (Brandes) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 192 and 193
    4  insert:
    5         Section 5. Paragraph (c) is added to subsection (3) of
    6  section 420.6075, Florida Statutes, to read:
    7         420.6075 Research and planning for affordable housing;
    8  annual housing report.—
    9         (3) The Shimberg Center for Affordable Housing shall:
   10         (c) Research national housing policies and develop policy
   11  recommendations and best practices for housing in both urban and
   12  rural communities in this state. By December 21, 2022, and
   13  annually thereafter, the center shall submit a report on its
   14  policy recommendations and best practices to the Governor, the
   15  President of the Senate, the Speaker of the House of
   16  Representatives, and the corporation and post the report on the
   17  center’s website. The corporation shall annually distribute $2
   18  million of its appropriation from the State Housing Trust Fund
   19  to the center for the purpose of administering this paragraph.

   22  And the title is amended as follows:
   23         Delete line 32
   24  and insert:
   25         within a certain period; amending s. 420.6075, F.S.;
   26         requiring the Shimberg Center for Affordable Housing
   27         at the University of Florida to research national
   28         housing policies and develop policy recommendations
   29         and best practices for housing; requiring the center
   30         to annually submit reports to the Legislature and the
   31         corporation and post the reports on its website;
   32         requiring the corporation to annually distribute a
   33         specified amount from the State Housing Trust Fund to
   34         the center; amending s. 420.5092, F.S.;
