       Senator Farmer moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 676 and 677
    4  insert:
    5         Section 12. Section 626.9375, Florida Statutes, is created
    6  to read:
    7         626.9375 Proceeding venues and governing law.—After July 1,
    8  2022:
    9         (1) Any litigation, arbitration, or mediation involving a
   10  personal residential property insurance policy issued by, or a
   11  claim against, a surplus lines insurer authorized under ss.
   12  626.913-626.937 covering real property in this state must be
   13  conducted in this state and governed by the laws of this state.
   14         (2) A personal residential property insurance policy issued
   15  by a surplus lines insurer authorized under ss. 626.913-626.937
   16  covering real property in this state may not require an insured
   17  to pursue dispute resolution through litigation, arbitration, or
   18  mediation outside this state.

   22         Between lines 82 and 83
   23  insert:
   24         creating s. 626.9375, F.S.; providing requirements for
   25         proceeding venues and governing law for specified
   26         policies issued by and claims against surplus lines
   27         insurers; prohibiting such policies from requiring
   28         certain proceedings outside the state;
