        1011.8031Apprenticeship and Preapprenticeship Direct
 Funding Grant Program.—
(1)Subject to appropriations provided in the General
Appropriations Act, the Apprenticeship and Preapprenticeship
Direct Funding Grant Program is created to provide funding
directly to apprenticeship or preapprenticeship programs, as
those terms are defined in s. 446.021, rather than funding such
programs through a local educational agency. The Department of
Education shall administer the grant program.

preapprenticeship program is ineligible for a grant under this
section if such program uses any school district or Florida
College System institution resources for the administration of
the program. The department shall give priority to
apprenticeship or preapprenticeship programs with demonstrated
 regional demand.
(3)The State Board of Education may adopt rules to
 administer this section.
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.
