       Senator DiCeglie moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 576 and 577
    4  insert:
    5         Section 14. Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section
    6  341.061, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         341.061 Transit safety standards; inspections and system
    8  safety reviews.—
    9         (1)(a) The department shall adopt by rule minimum safety
   10  standards for governmentally owned fixed-guideway transportation
   11  systems, and privately owned or operated fixed-guideway
   12  transportation systems operating in this state which are
   13  financed wholly or partly by state funds, and any governmentally
   14  or privately owned fixed-guideway transportation systems
   15  operating in this state which are located within an independent
   16  special district created by local act which have boundaries
   17  within two contiguous counties. Standards must be site-specific
   18  for fixed-guideway transportation systems and shall be developed
   19  jointly by the department and representatives of the affected
   20  systems, giving full consideration to nationwide industry safety
   21  norms relating to the development and operation of fixed
   22  guideway transportation systems. The department shall conduct
   23  structural safety inspections in adherence with s. 335.074 for
   24  any fixed-guideway transportation systems that are raised or
   25  have bridges, as appropriate. Inspectors shall follow
   26  departmental safety protocols during safety inspections,
   27  including requiring the suspension of system service to ensure
   28  the safety and welfare of inspectors and the traveling public
   29  during such inspections.

   34  and insert:
   35         transportation plans; amending s. 341.061, F.S.;
   36         requiring the department to adopt by rule minimum
   37         safety standards for certain fixed-guideway
   38         transportation systems; requiring the department to
   39         conduct certain structural inspections and follow
   40         certain safety protocols during such inspections;
   41         amending s. 341.071, F.S.;
