       The Committee on Criminal Justice (Martin) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 13 - 22
    4  and insert:
    5  knowingly and intentionally, against the will of another person,
    6  impedes the normal breathing or circulation of the blood of that
    7  person, so as to create a risk of or cause great bodily harm by
    8  applying pressure on the throat or neck of the other person or
    9  by blocking the nose or mouth of the other person. This
   10  subsection does not apply to any act of medical diagnosis,
   11  treatment, or prescription which is authorized under the laws of
   12  this state.
   13         (2) A person who violates subsection (1) commits a felony
   14  of the third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s.
   15  775.083, or s. 775.084.
   16         Section 2. Paragraph (d) of subsection (3) of section
   17  921.0022, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
