    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to lottery retailer compensation;
    3         amending s. 24.105, F.S.; requiring that specified
    4         compensation be paid to retailers for Florida Lottery
    5         ticket sales; deleting a limitation on additional
    6         retailer compensation; repealing s. 58, chapter 2022
    7         157, Laws of Florida, relating to the future
    8         expiration of an amendment; providing effective dates.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Paragraph (i) of subsection (9) of section
   13  24.105, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   14         24.105 Powers and duties of department.—The department
   15  shall:
   16         (9) Adopt rules governing the establishment and operation
   17  of the state lottery, including:
   18         (i) The manner and amount of compensation of retailers,
   19  provided, however, that except for the 2022-2023 fiscal year
   20  only, effective July 1, 2022, the commission for Florida Lottery
   21  ticket sales shall be 6 5.75 percent of the purchase price of
   22  each ticket sold or issued as a prize by a retailer. Any
   23  additional retailer compensation is limited to the Florida
   24  Lottery Retailer Bonus Commission program appropriated in
   25  Specific Appropriation 2759U of the 2022-2023 General
   26  Appropriations Act.
   27         Section 2. Effective upon this act becoming a law, section
   28  58 of chapter 2022-157, Laws of Florida, is repealed.
   29         Section 3. Except as otherwise expressly provided in this
   30  act and except for this section, which shall take effect upon
   31  this act becoming a law, this act shall take effect July 1,
   32  2023.
