1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to specialty license plates; amending
3 s. 320.08058, F.S.; directing the Department of
4 Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to develop a United
5 Service Organizations license plate; providing for
6 distribution of fees collected from the sale of the
7 plate; providing an effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. Subsection (127) is added to section 320.08058,
12 Florida Statutes, to read:
13 320.08058 Specialty license plates.—
14 (127) UNITED SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS LICENSE PLATES.—
15 (a) The department shall develop a United Service
16 Organizations license plate as provided in this section and s.
17 320.08053. The plate must bear the colors and design approved by
18 the department. The word “Florida” must appear at the top of the
19 plate, and the words “United Service Organizations” must appear
20 at the bottom of the plate.
21 (b) The annual use fees from the sale of the plate must be
22 distributed to United Service Organizations, a nonprofit
23 corporation under s. 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code,
24 which may use up to 10 percent of such fees for administrative
25 costs and marketing of the plate. The balance of the fees shall
26 be used by United Service Organizations for the organization’s
27 operations, activities, programs, or projects.
28 Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2023.
