       Senator Thompson moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (333316) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Between lines 29 and 30
    5  insert:
    6         Section 3. Section 97.0556, Florida Statutes, is created to
    7  read:
    8         97.0556 Same-day voter registration.—Notwithstanding the
    9  closing of the registration books for an upcoming election as
   10  provided in s. 97.055, a person who meets the qualifications to
   11  register to vote in s. 97.041 and who provides the information
   12  required for the statewide voter registration application in s.
   13  97.052 may register at an early voting site or at his or her
   14  polling place and immediately thereafter cast a ballot.

   17  And the title is amended as follows:
   18         Between lines 2447 and 2448
   19  insert:
   20         creating s. 97.0556, F.S.; authorizing a person who
   21         meets certain requirements to register to vote at an
   22         early voting site or at his or her polling place and
   23         to immediately thereafter cast a ballot;
