    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Small Business Certification
    3         Program; creating s. 288.7032, F.S.; requiring the
    4         Office of Supplier Diversity of the Department of
    5         Management Services to establish the program;
    6         providing a purpose for the program; requiring
    7         political subdivisions to accept small businesses
    8         certified under the program for specified provisions
    9         of law; authorizing the department to adopt rules;
   10         providing an effective date.

   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. Section 288.7032, Florida Statutes, is created
   15  to read:
   16         288.7032 Small Business Certification Program.—
   17         (1) The Office of Supplier Diversity of the Department of
   18  Management Services shall establish the Small Business
   19  Certification Program. The purpose of the program is to certify
   20  small businesses that meet the definition of a small business in
   21  s. 288.703.
   22         (2) A small business certified under this section must be
   23  accepted by political subdivisions as a small business for the
   24  purposes of ss. 288.702-288.706, regardless of any additional
   25  certification process established by any political subdivision.
   26         (3) The Department of Management Services may adopt rules
   27  to implement this section.
   28         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.
