    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to state university student fee
    3         waivers; amending s. 1009.26, F.S.; requiring state
    4         universities to waive specified fees for graduate
    5         students who meet a specified full-time equivalent
    6         appointment requirement; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Present subsections (16) through (20) of section
   11  1009.26, Florida Statutes, are redesignated as subsections (17)
   12  through (21), respectively, and a new subsection (16) is added
   13  to that section, to read:
   14         1009.26 Fee waivers.—
   15         (16) A state university shall waive the fees imposed in s.
   16  1009.24(7)-(13) for a graduate student who has at least a 0.25
   17  full-time equivalent appointment as a graduate assistant,
   18  graduate research assistant, graduate teaching assistant,
   19  graduate research associate, or graduate teaching associate.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.
