    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to sudden cardiac arrest informational
    3         posters; creating s. 381.991, F.S.; requiring the
    4         Department of Health to create an informational poster
    5         relating to the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest;
    6         providing requirements for such poster; providing
    7         definitions; providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Section 381.991, Florida Statutes, is created to
   12  read:
   13         381.991 Sudden cardiac arrest informational posters.—The
   14  Department of Health shall create an informational poster
   15  relating to the treatment of sudden cardiac arrest.
   16         (1) The poster must:
   17         (a) List the signs and symptoms of sudden cardiac arrest.
   18         (b) Provide steps to take if a person goes into sudden
   19  cardiac arrest, including, but not limited to, the following:
   20         1. Call 911.
   21         2. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
   22         3. Use an automated external defibrillator, if applicable.
   23         (c) Be publicly displayed in an accessible area of a
   24  business or state agency.
   25         (2) As used in this section, the term:
   26         (a) “Business” means a trade or profession with 50 or more
   27  employees.
   28         (b) “State agency” means an entity of the legislative,
   29  executive, or judicial branch of state government.
   30         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024.
