    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to admission to practice law by an
    3         unauthorized alien; amending ch. 2023-40, Laws of
    4         Florida; providing that certain licenses to practice
    5         law be revoked on a specified date under certain
    6         circumstances; providing an exception; providing an
    7         effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Section 9 of chapter 2023-40, Laws of Florida,
   12  is amended to read:
   13         Section 9. The repeal of s. 454.021(3), Florida Statutes,
   14  by this act does not affect the validity of any license to
   15  practice law issued pursuant to that subsection before November
   16  1, 2028. However, such license to practice law shall be revoked
   17  on November 1, 2028, unless valid proof of United States
   18  citizenship is certified by the Florida Board of Bar Examiners
   19  on or before that date.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025.
