       The Committee on Fiscal Policy (DiCeglie) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 72 - 84
    4  and insert:
    5         (a) Requiring firefighter employers to purchase
    6  firefighting gear that does not contain chemical hazards or
    7  toxic substances if such gear becomes readily available on the
    8  commercial market. For purposes of this paragraph, the term
    9  “readily available” means that more than one manufacturer offers
   10  firefighting gear that does not contain chemical hazards or
   11  toxic substances. The division may recommend a phased approach
   12  in adopting rules for replacing firefighting gear that contains
   13  chemical hazards or toxic substances.
   14         (b) Requiring firefighter employers that issue firefighting
   15  gear that contains or is manufactured with chemical hazards or
   16  toxic substances to provide their firefighter employees notice
   17  that the firefighting gear issued may contain or is manufactured
