    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to medspas; creating s. 456.601, F.S.;
    3         defining the term “medspa”; requiring each medspa to
    4         prominently post on its website and in a conspicuous
    5         location in its facility specified information about
    6         the physician supervising the medspa; providing an
    7         effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Section 456.601, Florida Statutes, is created to
   12  read:
   13         456.601 Medspas.—
   14         (1) “Medspa” means a spa-like facility that offers medical
   15  services under the supervision of a physician licensed under
   16  chapter 458 or chapter 459. Medspas may provide a combination of
   17  traditional spa services and noninvasive, cosmetic procedures,
   18  such as laser hair removal, medical-grade skin therapies,
   19  chemical peels, and cosmetic injections. The term does not
   20  include a physician’s office in which such services are provided
   21  by or under the direct supervision of a physician.
   22         (2) Each medspa must prominently post on its website and in
   23  a conspicuous location in its facility the name, license number,
   24  and any specialty certifications of its supervising physician,
   25  as well as the names and locations of any additional medspas
   26  supervised by the same physician.
   27         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025.
