    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution commending the State Government Affairs
    3         Council on the occasion of its 50th anniversary and
    4         recognizing the organization’s tireless work
    5         nationwide in advocating for sound policy decisions,
    6         transparency, and good governance at the state level.

    8         WHEREAS, the State Government Affairs Council (SGAC) was
    9  established 50 years ago with the mission of advancing and
   10  supporting the state government affairs profession by fostering
   11  community and relationship building with peers and elected
   12  officials, building knowledge, and promoting diverse
   13  perspectives in a nonpartisan environment, and
   14         WHEREAS, SGAC’s members, consisting of government affairs
   15  professionals from around the nation, have consistently worked
   16  to enhance understanding and communication between the public
   17  and private sectors, ensuring the fair representation of diverse
   18  interests and advocating for the advancement of policies that
   19  promote unparalleled educational opportunities; providing a
   20  forum for collaboration between members and policymakers;
   21  mentoring the next generation of state government affairs
   22  professionals; and promoting all aspects of diversity, and
   23         WHEREAS, through its collaboration with legislative bodies,
   24  administrative agencies, and community stakeholders, SGAC has
   25  helped build more responsive, transparent, and accountable state
   26  governments, and
   27         WHEREAS, the 50th anniversary of SGAC represents a
   28  milestone of achievement and service in its ongoing commitment
   29  to excellence in government affairs, and
   30         WHEREAS, SGAC has fostered a forward-thinking platform for
   31  addressing emerging challenges in state governance, and
   32         WHEREAS, SGAC has created a legacy of fostering leadership,
   33  training, and advocacy which has shaped the professional
   34  development of thousands of individuals in the government
   35  relations field, NOW, THEREFORE,

   37  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   38  
   39         That the Senate commends the State Government Affairs
   40  Council for its 50 years of dedicated service and significant
   41  contributions to enhancing the relationship between state
   42  governments, local governments, businesses, and communities.
   43         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate encourages continued
   44  support for the State Government Affairs Council’s mission and
   45  commends its members for their tireless work to advocate for
   46  sound policy decisions, transparency, and good governance.
   47         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate extends its
   48  congratulations to the State Government Affairs Council and its
   49  members on reaching this remarkable milestone and acknowledges
   50  their enduring influence on this state’s government affairs
   51  landscape.
   52         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with
   53  the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the State
   54  Government Affairs Council as a tangible token of the sentiments
   55  of the Florida Senate.
