    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution designating February 5, 2026, as St.
    3         Johns County Day in Florida, in honor of the county’s
    4         contributions, historic significance, and continued
    5         importance to this state.

    7         WHEREAS, St. Johns County was established in 1821 and is
    8  recognized as one of the first counties in Florida, and
    9         WHEREAS, the early modernization of Florida began in St.
   10  Johns County through the vision of Henry Flagler, whose
   11  development of the railroad and construction of the Hotel Ponce
   12  de Leon, now the esteemed Flagler College, provided the
   13  foundation for the region’s growth, and
   14         WHEREAS, St. Johns County is home to a rich historical and
   15  cultural heritage, including the nation’s oldest city, numerous
   16  historic landmarks, 43 miles of pristine coastline, world-class
   17  recreational opportunities, and a thriving and diverse business
   18  community, and
   19         WHEREAS, St. Johns County stands as a pillar of Florida,
   20  continually contributing to the state’s prosperity through
   21  vibrant communities, cultural enrichment, economic development,
   22  and a high quality of life, and
   23         WHEREAS, St. Johns County Day serves as a valuable
   24  opportunity to celebrate the county’s profound historical
   25  contributions, natural beauty, ambition, and continued impact on
   26  the success and identity of this state, NOW, THEREFORE,

   28  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   29  
   30         That the Florida Senate hereby designates February 5, 2026,
   31  as St. Johns County Day in Florida, in honor of the county’s
   32  contributions, historic significance, and continued importance
   33  to this state.
