Senator Bullard, District 39 — Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 1, 2013
STATEMENT FROM SENATOR DWIGHT M. BULLARD:
Senator Dwight Bullard (D-39) released the following statement regarding the Florida legislature’s Senate Education Subcommittee vote to allow parents to vote to turn failing schools over to private operators or convert them to charter schools.
“Failing schools need more resources than they are currently given to raise the level of low performing students. If the legislature is serious about raising standards, stop taking away precious dollars from where they are clearly needed most and let’s get serious about education. As a teacher, I’m appalled by this committees decision to move forward with this bill and implore my colleagues in the remaining committees to vote this measure down.”
