President Galvano Appoints Senator Torres to Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame Council
Senate President Bill Galvano (R-Bradenton) today appointed Senator Victor Torres (D-Kissimmee) to the Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame Council. The seven-member Council is tasked with making nominations for induction into the Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame.
“I am pleased to appoint Senator Torres to the Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame Council. Not only is Senator Torres a proven advocate for veterans’ issues, but he truly understands the sacrifice and bravery that is required of our nation’s heroes,” said President Galvano. “As a U.S. Marine Corps veteran himself, I am confident that Senator Torres will serve the Florida Veteran’s Hall of Fame Council with integrity and honor.”
Senator Torres is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. During his service, he was awarded with the Good Conduct Medal by the U.S. Marine Corps.
The Florida Legislature established the Florida Veterans’ Hall of Fame, and its nominating Council, in 2013 to recognize and honor those military veterans who, through their works and lives during or after military service, have made a significant contributions to the State of Florida.
