HB 529: Sexual Predators and Offenders

GENERAL BILL by Watson, B. ; (CO-INTRODUCERS) Williams

Sexual Predators and Offenders; Prohibits person from knowingly authorizing or allowing sexual predator or sexual offender to operate motor vehicle owned or under dominion or control of that person, except for certain purposes; redefines term "total confinement" as it relates to part V of ch. 394, F.S., to apply civil commitment procedures for care & treatment of offenders in physically secured facilities operated or contractually operated for county; requires circuit court to have qualified practitioner conduct risk assessment before sentencing for defendant who has been found guilty of or has entered plea of nolo contendere or guilty to specified sex offenses; provides reporting requirements for risk assessment; requires court to order curfew as condition of probation or community control for offenders who commit certain sex offenses; directs court to require probationer or community controllee to undergo sexual offender treatment that is provided by qualified practitioner as term or condition of probation or community control.
