Committee on Communications, Energy, and Public Utilities
The Senate Committee on Communications, Energy and Public Utilities has statewide oversight of the Florida Public Service Commission, the industries it regulates, and related matters. This includes: the method of selection of Commission members; Commission operations and duties; the method of selection of the Public Counsel; the voice, video, and data communications companies; electric utilities, renewable electric energy producers, alternative transportation fuels, conservation and efficiency, and related economic development matters; water and wastewater companies; natural gas safety; the Florida Energy and Climate Commission and the Governor's Energy Office; and the Florida Energy Systems Consortium.
